A few hours from now, the co-main event of the night which is Huerta and Maynard will resolve the issue of perhaps who the number one contender for the lightweight title really is. Though the UFC could find itself in the tight spot if Huerta wins since he seems hell bent on leaving the UFC for the time being after this fight, mmy prediction is Maynard will win this one in a tightly contested unanimous decision.

Former TUF 5 Alum Gray Maynard (7-0) sees his fight with Roger Huerta as a huge step to be noticed in the talent heavy lightweight division. Although he admitted that he needs another win to warrant a title shot (should he win this one) against his TUF coach BJ Penn, he feels very confident that he will display this September 16 just how formidable and ready he is for the big fights.
